Aled

It's over twenty years ago that a young choirboy named Aled Jones shot to international stardom singing the theme-tune to Raymond Brigg's 'The Snowman'. Since then Aled has studied at the Guildhall, starred in Lloyd Webber's 'Joseph' and been a regular presenter on BBC's 'Songs Of Praise'. His new album shows how far he's progressed since his early 'choirboy' albums and showcases a far more mature and expressive voice. The selection of songs has a wider variety including several sacred classical works ('Pie Jesu', 'Ave Maria', 'Panis Angelicus' and more) alongside hymns and popular tunes such as 'How Great Thou Art' and 'Do You Hear What I Hear?'. Appropriately, the album closes with 'O Holy Night', a duet between Aled now and Aled as a young choirboy, which demonstrates just how far this talented man has developed.
