Top Seinfeld Episodes

For a show about nothing, “Seinfeld” sure knew how to keep us entertained. For nine years we followed Jerry and the gang as they ventured from the mundane to the absurd each week.

Number 5 - The Hamptons (Season 5, Episode 20)

There is nothing more relaxing than a weekend away, unless you're George awkwardly trying to navigate a showy girlfriend and some ill timed shrinkage. This episode of “Seinfeld” focuses more on the ensemble cast, giving each character some time to shine. Whilst Jerry and George deal with their girlfriend problems, Elaine must find the true meaning of breathtaking. All the while Kramer gets himself into some hot water. What more could you want from “Seinfeld”?

Number 4 - The Marine Biologist (Season 5, Episode 14)

If someone hits a golf ball into the ocean, will a whale become beached? According to this episode of “Seinfeld” that’s exactly what happens. Jerry forces George into a lie when he runs into an old college classmate. Of course, there is only one way this will end. Yet, this doesn’t stop George from indulging the lie. Miraculously, he maintains the facade of a marine biologist when faced with a beached whale. But, in typical George fashion, it still turns out poorly.

Number 3 - The Contest (Season 4, Episode 11)

It’s hard to know if an episode of TV based solely around the act of self love would fly in today’s modern TV landscape… Thankfully we can simply turn to this iconic episode of Seinfeld instead. After George is caught “something” handed by his mother the whole gang decide to see who is truly the master of their domain. What results is wildly entertaining TV. Whether it’s Kramer’s immediate forfeit or Elaine’s famous spark, this Seinfeld episode guarantees laughs.

Number 2 - The Soup Nazi (Season 7, Episode 6)

Seinfeld’s slew of absurdly hilarious characters are on full display in this episode. From Newman to a couple of intimidating bullies, each interaction leads to laughs. However, what this episode gives us is one of the most iconic characters in all of TV history… The Soup Nazi. The owner and chef of New York’s best soup kitchen may be a soup genius, but leave it to Elaine to completely ruin his business. I’ll tell you what though… that soup must have been something.

This episode of Seinfeld has all the ingredients of a classic. On one hand we’ve got Elaine’s impatient hunger. On the other, George’s timing woes. And this is all held together by Jerry’s constant banter and observational comedy. Yet, what makes this episode stand out is the frustration we feel watching it because... we’ve all been there. “Seinfeld” has a way of always being relatable and this episode is a perfect example of this.

So - what do you think? Are these also your favourite Seinfeld episodes?
