The Veronicas are back being the most unapologetic versions of themselves possible. 2021 is seeing the dynamic duo release TWO brand new albums (yes, you heard that right), and the first to be released is the experimentally charged ‘Godzilla’.
The twelve track record is for the OG fans with a mix of rock influences on songs like ‘Godzilla’ and ‘Silent’ as well as the big pop belters of ‘In My Blood’ and ‘Kaleidoscope’. It’s an album that is sonically all over the place, but that’s what they really wanted to capture. It’s meant to be a collision of all their influences, inspirations and emotions that resurfaces some old leaked fan favourites like ‘Sugar Daddy’ as well as deliver some new future fan favourites.
Sonically where the magic really seems to be on this album is in the nostalgic pop tracks ‘High Score’, ‘Stealing Cars’ and ‘101’. With smooth melodies that will quickly get stuck in your head, these songs just feel fresh and have the most infectious hooks which you can already imagine being sung along to passionately on their upcoming tour.
