The Man Behind The Hits - Jack Antonoff

Jack Antonoff is genuinely a legend in the pop music world. If you are a musician then he’s probably a singer, songwriter and producer you idolise and dream of working with, or even just talking to one day. His career is impressive to say the least, and his acclaim is warranted with multiple Grammy awards under his belt and a high profile roster of artists he works with.

We were first introduced to Jack on a commercial level in 2009 through his band Fun. which was a collaborative project with Nate Reuss and Andrew Dost. He then went on to producing albums like ‘Melodrama’ by Lorde, ‘1989’, ‘Reputation’ and ‘Lover’ by Taylor Swift, ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell’ and ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’ by Lana Del Rey, ‘Masseduction’ and ‘Daddy’s Home’ by St. Vincent, and ‘Gaslighter’ by The Chicks to name a few. 

On top of all of these production roles, Jack also has a creative project of his own called Bleachers which has seen him tour alongside artists like Paramore and Charli XCX, and exclusively curate and produce the Love Simon soundtrack. His third studio album ‘Take The Sadness Out Of Saturday Night’ is out now and hears him creating a world of escapism through a 80’s pop-rock sonic and a vulnerable unravelling of emotions. 

Soaked in deep nostalgia and introspective revelations, he looks towards the ideology of the future by writing songs in pairs to give two unique perspectives of the situation. There are moments of euphoric release with big festival ready production that explodes with catharsis, and there are also intimate moments of introspection that are light sonically but heavy lyrically. He’s collaborated with Bruce Springsteen and Lana Del Rey on this album, and it truly is a must listen from start to finish.
