The Little Things Film

With The Little Things (2021) is on its way to Blu-ray & DVD from May 19th, Walkden Entertainment revisited the film recently and took another look at the film's star power Denzel Washington, Rami Malek & Jared Leto.
The Little Things follows Joe Deacon (Denzel Washington), who was once a top detective until the stress caught up with him.  Now, he works daily as a Deputy Sheriff and been requested to go back to his old Police Station in Los Angeles to collect evidence.  While waiting at his old station, he begins to talk to his old co-workers and shortly hears the word about a series of murders that sound similar to one of his old unsolved cases.  Soon he is invited to team up with the leading detective currently on the case, Baxter (Rami Malek).  Together, the two will try to catch the serial killer who has taken many women's lives.

Trivia:  All three leads of this film have all won an Oscar. 
Denzel Washington: Best Actor- Training Day (2002) & Best Supporting Actor- Glory (1990)
Rami Malek: Best Actor- Bohemian Rhapsody (2019)
Jared Leto: Best Supporting Actor- Dallas Buyers Club (2014)

When watching a film with a cast line up of this calibre, you expect fantastic things.  The actors do not disappoint.  It was apparent from the film's very start that the performances are incredibly pleasing, particularly from Denzel Washington & Jared Leto. 
Denzel Washington's performance is compelling.  The leading character of Joe (played by Denzel Washington) has a dark past, but he is also a man with a solid eye for detail.  Because of Denzel's skilled performance, we also see that Joe is compassionate about lives lost, even more so when justice has not been served.  Jared Leto brings alive a character full of mystery.  It is straightforward for the viewers to side against him as he creates a creepy villain. 
Denzel Washington alone brings a brilliant presentation to the big screen but combined with Rami Malek and Jared Leto, and viewers are treated to something unlike anything before.  Any fault one may have with the film will not be from the actor's performances!
