One of the biggest implications of the Covid-19 pandemic has been the ceasing of live music globally. With artists no longer able to extensively tour, we’ve been left watching live stream shows and revisiting old recorded gigs over and over again. One of the artists especially affected by this pause in the touring circuit is Norah Jones who released her seventh studio album ‘Pick Me Up Off The Floor’ in July last year. Eagerly awaiting to get on the road and play this new album live for her fans, she’s decided to deliver a little bit of nostalgia in the meantime.
’Til We Meet Again’ is a compilation of live performances recorded between 2017-2019 from places like the US, Brazil, Italy, France, and Argentina. Capturing all of her greatest hits and some fan favourites, this warm collection of polished jazz-pop will have you feeling like you’re transported to a hazy Jazz lounge. ‘Don’t Know Why’ will always be a favourite, but ‘I’ve Got To See You Again’, ‘After The Fall’ and ‘Just A Little Bit’ particularly standout in the live setting. However the most surprising addition from this album is a piano cover of Soundgarden’s ‘Black Hole Sun’ which was recorded as a tribute to Chris Cornell in Detroit days after him passing away.
This is a beautiful collection of tracks that will have you missing I've music, and ready to experience the laid-back vibes of Norah Jones live very soon.
