Music That Will Get You Dancing: The Friday Edition

It’s finally Friday, but depending on what state you’re in this week then it may not feel like a normal celebratory Friday with the sudden lockdowns in place. So we decided to compile a list of our favourite Friday songs that will get you dancing and hopefully bring a little bit of much needed serotonin to the end of the week. 

5. Freaky Friday - Lil Dicky feat. Chris Brown 

We all need a laugh right now, and Lil Dicky and Chris Brown’s comedy-pop song ‘Freak Friday’ is so ridiculous that it’s perfect. No one really KNEW that this song would be  as big of a hit as it was, and that was genuinely the hilarious thing about it. It was meant to just be a meme, and it became a hit. 

4. Friday To Sunday - Justice Crew

Have you forgotten Justice Crew yet? Well if you have then you’re going to have this song stuck in your head for the next 3 hours before you revisit their entire discography of bonafide bangers, and I’m not sorry about it. 

3. Friday I’m In Love - The Cure

We had to include a little bit of classic-rock dancing into this countdown, and what better song to include than ‘Friday I’m In Love’ by The Cure. This euphoric track features on the new Just The Hits: Feel Good Anthems’ CD, and it really is a FEEL GOOD ANTHEM isn't it? 

2. Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F) - Katy Perry

This song. This video. Everything about it = iconic. It’s also just an epic singalong track that hasn’t aged since it was released in 2010. Hopefully tonight can be a ‘Last Friday Night’ epic party moment for you, Covid safe obviously. 

1. Friday - Rebecca Black 

Obviously the queen of Friday herself had to top our little countdown. Earlier this year Rebecca Black celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the internet-breaking viral single with a hyper-pop remix featuring Big Freedia, Dorian Electra and 3OH!3. This chaotic remix brings the song into the future with a fast paced production that will have you dancing the night away in the middle of the dancefloor.
