Everything You Should Know About The New Kanye West Album

Kanye West is set to release his highly anticipated sixth studio album ‘DONDA’ on August 6, and it may just be one of his most anticipated records yet. The rapper premiered the album in full on July 22 at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Georgia and it was expected to be released on streaming platforms shortly after the event. But in typical Kanye fashion, it didn’t drop. And to be honest, it wasn’t even finished being mix and mastered. So with two weeks added to the release schedule, he is now able to polish up the record and get it out with even more anticipation with early reviews already calling this a full circle return to the Yeezus we know and love. So what else do we know about the album? 

- ‘DONDA’ is named after his mother who passed away in 2007 at age 58. 

- The album features Pusha T, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Baby Keem, Lil Baby, Ty Dolla $ign, , Don Toliver, Roddy Ricch, Pop Smoke and VORY.

- The tracklisting included 15 songs during the listening party.

- Jay Z and Kanye West reunite on the closing track which is the first time in 5 years that they’ve been on the same song. The verse serves a bit of a hint towards a sequel to Watch The Throne which Kanye teased was coming back in 2018… so it could actually be coming this time.

- Jay Z recorded his verse at 4pm on the day of the stadium listening party.

- Sonically this album is a massive departure from ‘Jesus Is King’, and is a return to the sound and vision behind ‘YEEZUS’. 

- DONDA is being released on August 6… for now… Kanye West works on Kanye West time so you never truly know. Stay tuned!
