Brad Cox - What’s Your Favourite Country Song Album Review

Australia has a brand new country star with the heartfelt sound of Brad Cox. With a sonic similar to Luke Combs, the 2018 Toyota Star Maker winner has won over a growing legion of fans with his self titled album and the impressive follow up ‘My Mind’s Projection’. 

With his touring schedule getting completely wiped at the start of last year Cox found himself questioning just what to do. He lost a major part of what he loves doing and it impacted him quite deeply. Finding a way to hit the road for a stripped down acoustic run of dates once restrictions started easing, he excitingly started to connect with his fans again. Through these intimate shows he found new renditions and new meanings in his storytelling that felt special and warm. So to celebrate this chapter he recorded new acoustic versions of some of his favourite tracks from his two albums as well as the brand new single ‘Beau In The Back’ for a new EP. 

‘What’s Your Favourite Country Song’ is a familiar affair through a new lens. It hones the storytelling side of his artistry and gives the songs a even more vulnerable and genuine undertone as he shares his story through ‘Give Me Tonight’, ‘Drinking Season’, ‘Lake House and ‘Short Lived Love’. He even collaborates with partner Sammy White for a cover of Tyler Childs’ ‘Feathered Indians’.
