Alan Jackson is a country music legend in his own right, and after six years in-between albums he’s finally released his twenty first studio album ‘Where Have You Gone’. Making sure he’s making up for lost time, he’s delivered 21 tracks of country melodies and introspective reflection that will have long-term fans of the American singer-songwriter very happy.
Opening with the crooning of title track ‘Where Have You Gone’, he eases into a record with twangy country songs like ‘Wishful Drinkin’ and ‘I Can Be That Something’, big energetic tracks like ‘Livin On Empty’ and ‘Back’, and tender moments like ‘Things That Matter’ and ‘So Late So Soon’.
But two of the albums biggest standout tracks are ‘You’ll Always Be My Baby’ and ‘I Do’ which were written for two of his daughters’ weddings. The emotively charged tracks will quickly become wedding favourites within his fans as they are genuinely beautiful songs.
After a long wait between records, Alan Jackson doesn’t disappoint with this must listen for all country music fans.
