Buffalo Tales is the new project for Sydney based singer-songwriter Wes Carr. From his early days being mentored by Joe Cocker and Michael Hutchence, to fronting Silverchair offshoot Tambalane through to his well-publicised success on reality TV, Wes has well and truly paid his dues and already lived several musical lifetimes before reaching the age of 30.
Buffalo Tales sees Wes return to his organic singer/songwriter roots and is an intimate and natural fit with ‘new folk’ and alt country undertones that lets his music speak for itself. The album 'Roadtrip Confessions' is loosely based around the soundtrack to a fictional roadtrip where interludes punctuate stops along the way and a carefully selected choice of guest artists and 2 covers compliment a series of confessions, stories and reflections.
“This album is exactly who I am at this point in time, and the reason I have been able to create it is because of all of that other stuff I did: confusing myself, making mistakes, making things more complicated than they should be. I think I’ve come full circle. It all feels new again.” Produced by Stu Hunter who has worked with everyone from Sia, Julia Stone, Katalyst, to Passenger, Katie Noonan and many more. Guests include Rachel Sermanni (Scotland), Baskery (Sweden), Sam Buckingham and The Falls.
Buffalo Tales' re-imaging of Rihanna's smash 'Diamonds' is currently picking up some great momentum on the US blogoshere after being tweeted by Sia Furler (writer of the original Rihanna version) describing her love for 'this amazing' version!
