Fly Fishing with God

Fly Fishing with God is a collection of essays and stories about fly fishing and its larger meaning by an award-winning writer. The majority of the included essays have, as their central theme, some aspect of, or allusion to, the healing and therapeutic and mentoring aspects of fly fishing that so many people have recognized, and this theme ties the book together. Many people see this aspect of fly fishing as a form of spirituality, a connection to something larger, and the book capitalizes on that connection. This book is a collection of writings that would not be perceived as "religious" in any traditional sense of that word-- more accurately, the stories reflect the author's conviction, and that of many others, that there is something unique about fly fishing, something powerful and otherworldly, that sets fly fishers apart while at the same time binding them together. Some stories are original to this collection while others have appeared in print in a variety of magazines including TROUT, Southwest Fly Fishing, American Fly Fishing, Strung, The Loop, The Drake, California Fly Fisher, The American Fly Fisher, and elsewhere.
