The Easter Birds

On the third day, the flowers woke, and the birds began to sing once more. The Easter story comes to life through an ode to the people, the land, and the creatures that accompanied Jesus on his journey. Warbling birds greet Jesus as he rides into Jerusalem to celebrate the feast of Passover, mellow hoots comfort him in the Garden of Gethsemane, and deafening, stark cries ring out when Jesus is sentenced to death. Following Jesus from Palm Sunday through his ascension, The Easter Birds invites readers to celebrate Jesus's teachings on how to love others. Rich, layered art captures birds native to the Middle East--the hoopoe, Palestine sunbird, laughing dove, and raven. Backmatter shares more about each of these species.
