Lore of Yore

Folk tales and legends are like a mirror - they reflect the cultures who create them, and tell us about people who might have lived hundreds of years ago on the other side of the world. The stories in this collection reflect a side of folklore that you might not have seen before. They talk about heroes who love people of the same gender, gods who change between male and female to suit their needs, and beings who don't bother with either in the first place. These tales of love, loss, and adventure from across the world show how queer identities are as old and varied as the legends they're woven into. Do you hear the songs of the rusalkas in the river? Maybe you see yourself in clever Loki's quick thinking and flexibility, or maybe steadfast Cu Chulainn's enduring love for Ferdia speaks to you. These are our stories. Come and share them.
