Modern Missile Guidance

Modern Missile Guidance, Third Edition presents a rigorous survey of missile guidance, addressing not only missile-specific challenges but also broader problems in the guidance of unmanned vehicles. It explores the evolution of guidance systems, from traditional proportional navigation to advanced guidance laws based on the Lyapunov and Lyapunov-Bellman approaches.

The new edition includes a chapter dedicated to the unique challenges of hypersonic missile guidance, including extreme heat management, aerodynamics, and computational delays. It analyzes the influence of these delays on guidance accuracy and presents innovative solutions to mitigate their effects. It also considers obstacle avoidance algorithms and their application to unmanned vehicles.

This book is intended for aerospace industry researchers and practicing engineers working in missile guidance system design and air defense systems.
