Tanks On The Battlefield: Medium Mk.Ii, T-24 And T-28

In the early 1930s, the Soviet Red Army was one of the most forward-thinking and progressive militaries in the world. It experimented with many new tank concepts, including that of the medium tank, and Soviet tank engineers were keen to sample both foreign and domestic designs. The Red Army eventually employed three distinct and unique medium tanks, one designed in the United Kingdom and two domestic Soviet vehicles. They were the Vickers Armstrong Medium Mark II, the T-24 and the T-28. All three would see service in the Red Army, though only the T-28 was mass produced. Tanks on the Battlefield: Medium Mk.II, T-24 and T-28 lays out in detail the production and combat histories of the Medium Mark II, the T-24 and the T-28, alongside a fascinating collection of photographs taken by German and Finnish troops. AUTHOR: Francis Pulham considers himself to be 'an eccentric young man, who spends almost all of his time dedicated to his love of Russian tanks'. His passion started from a young age, being brought up on aircraft, but after a visit to Bovington Tank Museum, he discovered a new passion that has led to this book! Now, Francis spends his days researching tanks and looking after preserved models, which has been his dream for many years. He hopes one day to have a T-34 of his very own to look after. 200 b/w illustrations
