The Bullet Inside Me

Acclaimed Argentine thriller writer Gustavo Eduardo Abrevaya (The Sanctuary) returns with a harrowing tale of society in decay. When the five year old daughter of a Federal Police Officer (and granddaughter of a powerful notary) is kidnapped, Homicide Detective Federico “El Pardo” Bazán is assigned to track her down, launching an investigation that threatens to uncover corruption at the highest levels of government and risks sparking and all-out war between the Federal and Provincial Police forces. Set in Argentina during the 1978 World Cup, a time when the country was under the brutal control of a military dictatorship, and thousands of the “disappeared” were disposed of in a raging inferno dubbed the garbage dump, The Bullet Inside Me is a frightening journey through a hellish landscape of ruthless oppression, bloodthirsty security forces, and marauding bands of corpse-looting hooligans, where no one is innocent and trust is a distant memory.
