Summit After The Storm

The mountain almost took him. What he found instead changed everything.

High on Mount Kilimanjaro, in subzero temperatures and hurricane-force winds, a violent storm tore through camp and nearly sent a tent over the edge of a cliff. In that moment, survival became uncertain and clarity became unavoidable.

What began as a physical challenge became something far deeper.

In Summit After the Storm: Finding Strength in Turbulent Times, Bart Wilbanks shares a powerful true story of leadership, faith, adversity, and personal transformation. From the visible victories to the hidden struggles that rarely make it onto social media, this book reveals the full journey behind the summit. Drawing on more than two decades of executive leadership in supply chain and manufacturing, Wilbanks connects lessons from the mountain to real-world pressure, decision making, and resilience.

Through the Seven Stones framework—Gratitude, Clarity, Responsibility, Rhythms, Leadership, Faith, and Mission—readers gain practical tools to navigate uncertainty, rebuild identity, and lead with purpose in the face of challenge. Set against the demanding landscape of Mount Kilimanjaro and grounded in lived experience, this book speaks to leaders, professionals, and anyone walking through a difficult season.
