Not Another Statistic

Aerion?Glavac-Skinner is an American-born, Australian-raised writer, mentor, and advocate dedicated to turning pain into purpose. Her debut memoir, Not Another Statistic, traces her journey from foster care, cultural displacement and setbacks to faith, healing, and self-discovery.
Through her story she reminds readers that adversity isn't the end of a life but it's the beginning of transformation. Aerion's mission is to help others break down the barriers of shame, fear, and circumstance that hold them back from becoming who they're meant to be. She envisions creating a youth camp of her own, a haven where young people can heal, share their truths, and discover their inner strength. Just as she once did through the guidance of those who believed in her.
Today she continues to write, speak, and encourage others to believe that nothing is impossible especially when love, faith, and perseverance meet.
Aerion lives her message daily teaching that every story, no matter how complicated, can become a key to light for someone else.

In Not Another Statistic?I share the lessons, or "keys," I discovered from a life that began in the streets and foster care, carried me across continents, cultures, heartbreaks, faith, and triumphs.
Each key unlocks another truth about resilience, forgiveness, and finding purpose after pain. These keys are yours now. Use them however you need.
Some will fit perfectly, others may not and that's okay.
Take what helps, leave what doesn't, and one day share your own keys so that someone else can assist you in opening the doors you couldn't get open alone.
This is my story and how I learned to believe again and how I turned my survival into my strength.
