Animals (And Some Humans)

This book is a love letter to all the extraordinary animals that have touched Virginia Fallon's life. The yarns span more than four decades spent in the company of sweet, puzzling, and sometimes just plain terrible creatures. From suburbia to the countryside and back again via a vet clinic, a farm, a petting zoo and an animal sanctuary, this is a quintessentially Kiwi tale of one woman's chaotic life and all the beasties that have shared it.

From Casper the Cockatoo, with a beak like a multi-tool and a sailor's vocabulary, to Geoffrey the lizard who goes missing under suspicious circumstances, to Fleabus the black-hearted cat and various goats, lambs, cows, dogs and a stone-deaf sex-pest alpaca, Virginia's charges are many and various. The people she comes across along the way are a pretty wild bunch too.
