Conducting Implementation Research in Higher Education: Turning Evidence into Evidence-Based Teachin

Soicher provides an accessible and practical guide for implementation research a systematic approach to understanding why effective teaching practices often fail to take root in real classrooms.
This book describes research principles and practices that will bridge the gap between educational research and real-world classrooms. Rather than asking "what works?" implementation research asks the harder question: "What will work here, given our specific constraints and contexts?" Using real-world examples and step-by-step methods, Soicher demonstrates how instructors, academic developers, administrators, and researchers can collaboratively identify teaching challenges and test evidence-based solutions within their own institutional environments.
Producers and consumers of higher education research who want to improve student learning outcomes will find a practical roadmap for research that centers the complex realities of teaching and learning, transforming how educators think about bridging research and practice.
