Gorse

From Ciara Ó hArtghaile, co-owner of Ursa Minor Bakehouse, comes a food journey through the Irish seasons, mixing storytelling and recipes in a beautiful contemporary cookbook sharing the unique magic of Northern Ireland's coast.

This is a book with food at its core but firmly rooted in the turning Celtic wheel and Ciara's home in the gorgeous surrounds of the Giant's Causeway. Nurtured by a childhood of growing vegetables, foraging adventures, family gatherings and home-cooked meals, her deep love of food and people is shaped by community, nostalgia and an endless fascination with the landscape. She is led by the seasons, consciously cooking in tandem with what nature provides and aware that her mood and food are shaped by the nuances of change within the weeks and months of our ever-revolving planet.

Recipes are lyrically woven together with contemplative stories and stunning imagery that take you through the Celtic year and its festivals. From pints and music in the pub to out-in-the-wild suppers, from nature observations to garden-pickings share plates and fridge-raid dinners, Gorse will inspire you to reconnect with the land and celebrate the delights of every season with friends and family.
