Shadow Of Your Smile

Now after a long hiatus, a new three-track 12” vinyl featuring Tammy Payne performing a cover of the ’60s Mandel & Webster classic, ‘The Shadow Of Your Smile’ is due to be released on 20th November 2026. The vinyl’s three tracks capture different variations of breakbeat, dub and soul. The A side is a break driven, dynamic bond-esque version with orchestral drops and rises, over a tough hiphop rhythm. AA1 is a head nodding, rolling breakbeat affair with a digi dub style bassline, while Tammy’s vocal floats in and out on a sea of echo. AA2 is the original mello mix with sparse beat machine style patterns and 303 bass line. Tammy’s full vocal carrying the flow in contrast to the urgent backbeat, occasionally joined by keys, guitar melodies and fx. Each version having it’s own identity while all remaining very ’Smith & Mighty’
