Paniolo Country

Long before the world turned its eyes to Nashville, Hawaiian paniolo (cowboys) were riding the ranges, shaping a style of guitar playing and storytelling that fused traditional island roots with folk traditions. This album isn't Tatofi trying on a cowboy hat for fun; it's an authentic nod to a heritage that runs deep in his home state. By teaming up with Nashville producers Tyler Cain and Daniel Agee, Tatofi manages to bridge two distinct worlds without losing the soul of either.

There’s a raw, personal weight to the tracklist. The opening song, "Baby Blue," carries family history—it was originally recorded by Tatofi’s father, Tivaini Tatofi, with the iconic Hawaiian group Kapena. He also takes on massive classics like "Tennessee Whiskey," making it entirely his own through pure vocal warmth, and pairs up with Abby Anderson on "When You're With Me" for a duet that feels like an instant classic.

At its core, Paniolo Country feels like pulling up a chair to a slack-key porch session that just happens to have world-class Nashville production backing it up. It proves that real country music isn't about postal codes or steel guitars alone—it’s about honest storytelling, deep roots, and a voice that hits you right in the chest.
