Shetland

Shetland's natural landscape is among the most dramatic in the world and one where you are never more than three miles from the sea. This guide covers all 16 of its inhabited islands (there are over 100 islands in total) in addition to several more that are uninhabited, but still accessible to visitors. AUTHOR: Norm Longley has travelled around, and written extensively about, the British Isles and Scotland in particular for many years. The majority of this time has been spent roaming the Highlands and Islands, and especially the Northern Isles, Orkney and Shetland. As well as writing about the country, Norm and his family frequently visit the islands, with walking and wildlife watching foremost among their favourite activities. 40 colour photos, 22 maps
