A Guide To The Birdsong Remixed

Shika Shika presents the fifth volume in their Guide to the Birdsong series, this time taking the song of endangered birds to the dancefloor. This new chapter of the long-running project that works with renowned artists and producers to turn endangered birdsong into music. This time, tracks from previous Birdsong albums are reimagined by a global line-up of forward-thinking electronic artists, including Auntie Flo, Photay, Matias Aguayo, Yosi Horikawa, Tayhana and El Búho, transforming the calls, rhythms and atmospheres of threatened bird species into a new remix album. The idea is simple and unique: take music made from and inspired by the songs of endangered birds, and invite some of the most distinctive voices in contemporary electronic music to reinterpret it. The result is a record that moves between experimental club music, organic electronica, Latin American underground sounds, downtempo, field-recording-led production and global dance music, all rooted in the natural world.
