Including elements of out-there guitar jams, spiritual jazz, kosmiche soaked rock and Middle Eastern ambience, this is truly a record to live with. 'Revival' documents Baghdad-born musician Basim Al-Hashimi's once in a lifetime trip to the U.S in 1978 where his concoction of Arabic styles with the Western '60s and '70s rock so beloved of his youth came together to produce a record almost impossible to categorize.
