Kate Waters: Up My Street

In her striking paintings, Kate Waters captures transient everyday moments. Photographs taken on her travels serve as the basis for her painting, as do current events. Waters' work is situated within the duality between belonging and otherness, structure and fluidity, painterly surface and photographic presentation. Up My Street is the first comprehensive monograph of the artist's work. It features a selection of pieces from the past fifteen years. Large-scale reproductions and views from the artist's studio, as well as personal notes, allow the viewer a glimpse into Waters' large range of influences and provide an insight into her visual language and multifaceted creative process.
