Evolution

August 5, 1964.
America is in upheaval-Vietnam ignites, cities burn with racial unrest, and Beatlemania drowns the airwaves.

It's also the day Jack Mathews enters the world...in a delivery room shaken by complications no one can explain, and scenes no one present will ever forget.

Growing up in blue-collar Chicago, Jack seems ordinary enough-until he doesn't. His uncanny memory. His razor-sharp awareness. His impossible recoveries from injuries and illnesses that should have left scars, if not worse. Each incident raises the same unsettling question: Who-or what-is Jack Mathews?

For decades, Jack's extraordinary nature stays hidden.

Until the summer of 1996-when a tragic incident outside Buckingham Palace exposes the truth to the world.

For centuries, scientists have tried to map the rise of humankind. They agree on one thing: around 40,000 years ago, humanity made a sudden evolutionary leap.

What if it happened again?

And what if the next step in human evolution was already walking among us?

Ideal for fans of Michael Crichton and Arthur C. Clarke, Evolution is a gripping sci-fi thriller exploring how the modern world would react to a man who isn't superhuman-just genetically advanced. A living evolutionary jump, forced into the spotlight...and into the hands of those who will stop at nothing to control him.
