A deep dig and most wanted one! With their sole 1982 private press album, Ernst operated in the space between German New Wave (Neue Deutsche Welle aka NDW) and international post-punk. Inspired by the Talking Heads (whom they saw or heard live in 1980/81), they formed the band and translated several Talking Heads songs into German; further tracks like Devo's "Mongoloid" were adapted likewise. And what can one say? Their German versions were pure genius. Yet they also had their own ideas, as evidenced by original compositions like "C2H5OH" and "Autonome Einheit." A real gem for fans of NDW & post-punk, Talking Heads, Au Pairs, The Slits, Nichts (1981/82), Fehlfarben (1980), The Cure ("Three Imaginary Boys" era), etc. Restored original sleeve art!
