In this award winning BBC series Gareth takes on one of his biggest challenges yet - joining the creative and production teams at the world famous Glyndebourne and help put on a new opera to be performed at Glyndebourne in 2010. To put on a new opera at Glyndebourne is no mean feat. Working as chorus leader/vocal coach, Gareth oversees everything from the casting of the performers to every rehearsal, working alongside the rest of the creative team of composer and librettist, and the production team of stage director, conductor, set designer, to agree on costumes, sets, and most importantly how the music and story will be interpreted. And, of course, Glyndebourne puts Gareths trademark stamp on the production, by incorporating an ambitious large-scale childrens chorus into the opera.
