Kim Sung Jae

Kim Sung Jae's only solo album, "Kim Sung Jae" one of the landmark albums in Korean pop history, originally released on November 19, 1995, is finally set for release on CD and cassette. Released after the breakup of the popular duo Deux, this work was highly praised for it's sophisticated sound blending new jack swing, hip-hop, R&B, and funk, and it continues to be loved by many listeners as an iconic album of the 1990s Korean music scene. The album was produced by Lee Hyun-do, Kim Sung Jae's close musical partner from his Deux days. The title track "As I Told You" is known as a classic in Korean pop history and continues to be covered by many artists today. Following Kim Sung Jae's sudden passing at the young age of 23 on the day after the album's release, this work became both his only solo album and his final work. With it's outstanding musicality and historical background, it remains a legendary album, passed down as a milestone in Korean black music, hip-hop, and R&B.
