The legendary rock band from San Francisco was formed in 1965 and is one of the key representatives of the golden age of rock music. At the turn of the sixties and seventies, they became famous for their long and wild improvisations during concert performances. In their work, they worked with influences from various musical styles, from rock and psychedelia, through folk and bluegrass, to gospel, jazz and reggae. They broke up in 1995, when the group's leading figure, guitarist and singer Jerry Garcia, died. In 2007, the group received a Grammy for lifetime achievement.
