Freddie Mercury - A Legend Remembered

Freddie Mercury is an icon in the truest sense of the word. As the frontman of Queen, he is the voice of many of the biggest anthems of our time: We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Another One Bites The Dust, Don’t Stop Me Now and, of course, Bohemian Rhapsody.

He pushed the boundaries, challenged societal norms, and will forever be remembered for uniting the world with a standout performance during 1985’s Live Aid.

His death aged 45 in 1991 was a tragic end to his outstanding and colourful life - but, decades on, his groundbreaking music still resonates with rock and pop fans today. From Boomers to Gen Alpha, all ages have sung along to Freddie more times than they can remember.

So to mark what would have been his 80th birthday on September 5 and the 35th anniversary of his death (November 25), Mirror Books is releasing this ultimate collection of photographs, celebrating the legend onstage - and off.

Featuring hand-picked images from the unparalleled Mirrorpix archive, Britain’s largest and most comprehensive press photographic collection, it captures all of Freddie’s iconic career highs, alongside behind-the-scenes shots which give a rare insight into the real man behind the performer.

Accompanied with stories and anecdotes from throughout his life, this is a perfect must-have book for any Freddie or Queen fan.
