FROM THE ICONIC NUMBER ONE BESTSELLER IAN RANKIN

THEY SAY THE DEVIL MAKES WORK FOR IDLE HANDS...

Three friends visit an art auction each in search of something. Self-made mogul Mike Mackenzie completed the rat race, Allan Cruikshank is bored of his banking job, while art professor Robert Gissing is disgusted that so many paintings stay hidden in boardrooms.

One chance encounter is all it takes to light a spark in each: to plot the perfect crime.

The target? The National Gallery of Scotland. The prize? Some of the most valuable artworks around. The risk? None - because the world will never know that a crime was ever committed.

But with such high stakes at play, the heist will descend into second guesses and double crosses, with a deadly sting in the tail...
