From The Lips To The Moon

From the Lips to the Moon is the self-titled debut album from the Iranian-British duo Pouya Ehsaei (Ariwo, Parasang) and vocalist and performance artist Tara Fatehi. The 12-track album blends leftfield electronics, modular synthesizers, and drum machines with spoken-word poetry, and jazz and global instrumentation including clarinet, baritone sax, trumpet, cello, balafon, congas, bongos, drums and sorna. Capturing the energy of the duo's established London live shows, the release features a wide ensemble cast of transcultural artists. As a solo live player and bandleader of Ariwo, Ehsaei brings significant pedigree to the project, having previously performed at major global festivals and venues including the Montreux Jazz Festival, Fusion, WOMAD, WOMEX, Dimensions, the Barbican, and the Royal Albert Hall.
