John McLaughlin's "My Goal 's Beyond" is one of the absolute highlights of Jazz / Fusion music. John McLaughlin is a British musician. He is active as a Jazz and Rock guitarist and composer. The big success came for John McLaughlin founded in 1971 with it's own Mahavishnu Orchestra, in which he starred with Jerry Goodman, Jan Hammer and Billy Cobham. The high-energy, rhythmically complex fusion of Jazz and Rock was groundbreaking for the (inter alia by Miles Davis introduced) fusion music in the early 1970 's. The Mahavishnu Orchestra McLaughlin could (had the now renounced drugs and alcohol under the influence of his guru Sri Chinmoy) develop his incredible guitar technique and his musical potential first-time full. For the first time in 1970 recorded album "My Goal 's Beyond" was released in Germany on Douglas Records!
