The volume first briefly lays out foundational characteristics of human dubbing and subtitling before moving into a discussion of the hallmarks of AI-driven dubbing and subtitling. Giampieri and Leonardi discuss the most recent advancements in automated audiovisual translation to set the stage for examining these dynamics at work in case studies from translator training to legal and medical domains.
