In the second and final season, successful lawyer, Margaret Wright (Marcia Gay Harden), finally becomes partner of her firm. Her son, Todd (Skylar Astin), establishes his in-house private investigator service and takes on more cases outside the firm. However, as the new partner, Margaret is challenged to keep her struggling firm afloat as it faces financial ruin.
