David Zé – Mutudi Ua Ufolo / Viúva da Liberdade is a major milestone in Angolan music, intensely blending semba, rumba, and bolero, recorded at the height of the country's liberation struggle. Originally released on CDA with Conjunto Merengue, it captures David Zé at his creative peak. After his assassination in 1977, the album was banned for several years, before being reborn as an essential work of resistance and beauty.
