The Hague-based singer-songwriter Philip Kroonenberg is known for his rootsy Americana influenced by blues and Caribbean music. His new album, " Say When," sees him return with a swinging band, following the more sober and personal albums " Wherever You Are" and "The Therapist . " The fourteen tracks were recorded live in a single take in the studio with a band of top musicians, including Roel Spanjers on Hammond organ and piano, and Arto Boyadjian on slide guitar. Each song, written by Kroonenberg, is narrative and characterized by a raw, soulful voice. The album is released on the Excelsior Recordings label, where Kroonenberg has a long history of releasing albums.
