Oliver Dollar presents the fourth installment in his Contemporary series on Rekids. This EP precedes his upcoming album on the label and features collaborations with Seven “Sev” Davis Jr. and Nils Ohrmann, alongside dub reinterpretations by La Boix and Sev himself.

Germany’s Oliver Dollar returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with Contemporary Part Four, continuing a series that has seen him collaborate with artists like Austin Ato, Brillstein, Harvard Bass, Hazmat Live, and Boogs. The project has earned support from respected names such as Nightmares on Wax, Anja Schneider, Laurent Garnier, Carista, Jennifer Cardini, and Dam Swindle.

For this chapter of Contemporary, dub serves as the unifying theme:

The EP opens with “Speakers Bleed,” a jazz-inflected house track created with Classic Music Company and Ninja Tune artist Seven “Sev” Davis Jr. Hypnotic vocals swirl through deep, groove-laden rhythms, setting the tone with a fluid and atmospheric vibe.

Next is the Hallelujah Dub of “The New Is Here,” featuring Oliver’s long-time collaborator and Golden Gate club resident Nils Ohrmann, along with the soulful voice of Detroit songwriter APROPOS, a recurring presence throughout the Contemporary series. Gospel-tinged backing vocals and lush textures ride atop an infectious percussive rhythm.

On the flip, “Pill Popper”—originally from Contemporary Part Two—gets a rework by La Boix, the duo of LA's Thee Mike B (aka Brillstein) and producer Salva, known for his work with RL Grime, Kurupt, E-40, and the Grammy-nominated ScHoolboy Q album, as well as remixes for Rihanna, Boys Noize, and Nelly Furtado. Their version is a late-night, low-slung trip, with echoing keys and drifting vocals layered over deep basslines.

Closing the EP, Seven Davis Jr. returns for a dub version of “Before You” (originally from Contemporary Part One), Oliver’s collaboration with ADMN. This reinterpretation retains APROPOS’ heartfelt vocals, now enhanced with bright, soul-drenched synths and rolling drums, offering a warm and feel-good finale.
