The technology used to form the printed output from the photoconductor drum unit is known as Laser static processing. The laser produces the static charge in the form of a reverse image onto the surface of the photoconductor drum assembly. The toner particles become attached to the charges formed on the drum from the laser by way of a principle known as the electrostatic attraction. When the paper is passed between the drum and the toner roller, these toner particles that form the image, then get attracted to the paper by reversing the charge on a roller underneath the paper. The printed paper then passes through the heating element where these toner particles are melted and impressed into the paper to finalise the printing process. This final stage ensures that the toner particles have permanently adhered to the paper for handling, longevity and durability.
