As you'll know, BOX CAR RACER is a side project of Tom Delonge and Travis Barker of small-time little-known pop group BLINK 182. Joined by their friends David Kennedy and Anthony Celestino - this record is bereft of the more pop leanings (and fart jokes) of Blink tending towards more of a hardcore, experimental ... even DIY tangent in the vein of FUGAZI. DeLonge played both lead guitar and bass, and sang on the self-titled album with David Kennedy from the punk band Over My Dead Body on rhythm guitar and Anthony Celestino on bass... with Travis of course on skins. DeLonge along with Barker wrote all the material and all the lyrics are written by DeLonge. In his own words 'This record is directly influenced by the bands that mean the most to me. It’s a tribute to the music that made me want to be in a band in the first place.' Sick!
