Blue Moon

Already a legend in his native Texas, Steve Holy has been working steadily across the 1990s to build his local following into a national (and now international) one. And Blue Moon looks like it could be the album to establish all this for the dark-eyed singer, whose matinee-idol looks are sure to make him a favourite with housewives bemoaning Garth Brooks' retirement. Featuring some of country's top backing musicians and produced by Wilbur C Rimes (LeAnn's dad), the album's first single is Good Morning Beautiful, which has already hit number one in the US country charts and been a top-30 pop hit. The song is characteristic of Holy's material – an epic love ballad that finds him crooning softly about the wonders of his partner. Although Holy's material is country-tinged he could easily be slotted into the same easy-listening bracket as Neil Diamond and Glen Campbell. Which suggests his potential could be huge.
