Cinderella

A classic fairy tale with a twist, from the UK's leading author of plays for young audiences. The ugly sisters and the vicious stepmother get their come-uppance, but Cinders, in a thoroughly refreshing alternative, rejects the spoilt and arrogant Prince in favour of the genuine and reliable Buttons. Stuart Paterson's stage version of Cinderella was first performed at the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh, in 1989. 'This is on certain levels a vastly sophisticated piece, dealing in issues of hollow greed, status and inner freedom, and yet it remains at every turn a thoroughly entertaining and successful piece of children's theatre' Herald, Scotland'In the fullness of time, I think Stuart Paterson's modern pantomimes may come to be seen as one of the outstanding legacies of Scottish theatre' Guardian'One of the most powerful children's Christmas plays written anywhere in the last 25 years' Scotsman

Ideal for readers interested in literature & poetry.
