Moriyama, who says, "I like melody more than rhythm," chose this melody himself. Recorded at the Duo concert with Nobumasa Tanaka in 2011. Lifelong youth! Born in 1945, Moriyama boy loves to sing. The melody excites him, and the lyrics depict his dreams. In his childhood, he was overwhelmed by the drums of a jazz band he witnessed in his hometown of Katsunuma in the early 1950s. When he became a high school student, he joined the brass band club and started playing the drums, chasing melodies and playing songs on the drums. This spirit remained unchanged even after he made his debut with the Yosuke Yamashita Trio in 1969 and immersed himself in free jazz. After forming his own group, he is still fascinated by the melodies created by his co-stars. Moriyama performs such melodies in various configurations such as quartet, quintet, and octet, but among them, he especially prefers the simple performance form of a Duo with Nobumasa Tanaka on piano, and has been holding concerts continuously since the late 1990s when he met Tanaka. The present work was unearthed from a concert recording at the Kani City Cultural Creation Center ALA in 2011. It consists of Moriyama's favorite songs and songs he feels like singing.
