Get Ready

King Curtis was an American saxophonist and bandleader who played rhythm and blues, soul, rock and roll, and soul jazz. He played riffs and solos on hit singles such as Respect by Aretha Franklin 1967, and Yakety Yak by The Coasters 1958 and his own Soul Twist 1962, Soul Serenade 1964, and Memphis Soul Stew 1967. His importance as a musician and a producer is underlined here by his collaborators: Cornell Dupree, Eddie Hinton and The Swampers ; Eric Clapton and Delaney Bramlett on Teasin' ; Jimmy Smith on Soulin' ; and more. The album Get Ready is nice instrumental Rhythm & Blues, still rooted in the 60s sound and features 10 tracks.
