Russell Crowe followed up his star making turn in 'Gladiator' with this tense and exciting thriller, which also stars Meg Ryan and the great David Morse. Set in the mountains of South America, drug dealers kidnap Peter Bowman (Morse), an engineer working for an oil company. A negotiator is called in, Terry Thorne (Russell Crowe), an ex-army man who specialises in this sort of situation. He deals with the terrorists as well as trying to comfort Bowman's wife Alice (Meg Ryan). When the oil company goes bust they wash their hands of the situation, Alice begs Terry to stay and help her husband, but will he stay and help and what about the attraction that seems to be growing between them?
