Pup This Place Sucks Ass - Neon Green Coloured Vinyl

“This Place Sucks Ass” was a joke we used to make about the world while on tour (remember touring?), but more than ever, it feels true. Like a joke that’s maybe become just a little too real to be outright funny. That’s how we feel about most of the songs on this EP.

A bunch of the songs were written and recorded during the Morbid Stuff sessions. Some would call them B-sides, but that’s never how we felt about them. They are mostly just songs that felt too dark or too manic to make sense with the flow of the album.

The only song written and recorded post-COVID is the first song on the EP, “Rot”. While most of our songs are not overtly political, it’s a song that sonically captures our current emotional states. Angry, anxious, bitter and frustrated. And in typical PUP fashion, we’ve injected just enough ridiculousness and self-deprecation to help us cope with the daily onslaught of existential dread. That is, after all, our specialty.

We hope you like this EP. Like us, it is at times introspective, and other times completely unhinged. It’s goofy, honest, sad and angry all at the same time. Wherever you live, whatever your circumstances, this is an EP about the place you are from, and the place you’re at now.
